At the start of week 2 we began the process of removing the old floorboards which were riddled with woodworm and replacing them with new ones. At this point my anxiety was through the roof having never had any experience renovating before I was convinced the whole house would fall down with each bang or that one of the boys would make a rapid decent from upstairs to down in an ungainly manner.
Our friend and local cafe owner Fernando was also on hand to help.
We only had one slight mishap when the local builders merchant came to deliver some materials, he got his hydraulic hose caught and it came loose and we had a nice oil slick sliding down the drive. OOPS!
Hmmm I see danger!
Plenty of kindling for the fire
A well deserved rum and coke to calm the nerves
Fernando
Making the head height going upstairs more user friendly!
All of the new floorboards had to be treated for woodworm before laying
Hydrolic oil mishap
The old wood had to be treated too
Leave him alone for a minute and the walls are gone!!
