Week 44 – Back on track!

Having lived with the improvements that we made in the kitchen for a few months now we decided that it wasn’t working, especially as we are inside more as the nights draw in. It was too dark and felt claustrophobic. Sadly the damp had already got to the chipboard shelves do they need to come out. We moved the big table to the workshop and created a breakfast bar style table. We moved the oven cabinet and bought the love seat sofa down from upstairs. Mike does all of the cooking and isn’t keen on being alone whilst he cooks understandably so the addition of the sofa means I can comfortably sit and keep him company, we can also watch TV down there too which feels much more cosy. Sparrow most definitely approves.

When I say that Mike does all of the cooking, its not completely true… I made a batch of choc chip cookies this week which received great praise from the head chef. I neglected to post a photo of the coffee and walnut cake i’d made the week before as it was somewhat below par! haha! More practice needed with cakes! I blame the Spanish flour…
